Ed Baird wins Group B Round Robin, going 6-1.  Paolo Cian ties Baird's record, but loses the tiebreak.  Larry Ellison misses the cut at (2-5).

Allianz Cup Day Two

Italy's Paolo Cian, tied for fifth in the match racing world championship standings, leads the Group B round robin at the Allianz Cup Presented by Oracle after four flights.

Day one of the Allianz Cup presented by Oracle saw Ian Williams, Team Pindar, leading Group A followed by Peter Holmberg of Alinghi and Ben Ainslie of Emirates Team New Zealand.

The Allianz Cup is an opportunity for US sailing fans to see America’s Cup style match-racing out of the St. Francis Yacht Club on San Francisco Bay. The regatta runs from Wednesday, October 25th through Sunday, October 29th.

The Allianz Cup is one stage in the 2006-2007 series of the World Match Racing Tour. The World Tour, in total 15 events, crowns the ISAF Match Racing World Champion at the end of 2007. In the Allianz Cup, sixteen teams, some from current Cup syndicates, some from the next generation of match-race sailors, will vie for a share of the $100,000 purse with $25,000 going to the winner.
