Qualifiers Scoring:

Semi-Final Pairings:   America's Cup Match Points Advantage:
A one or two point bonus in Louis Vuitton Qualifiers Scoring was distributed to the two top 2015-2016 LV ACWS teams:
- GBR Received a 2 point Bonus.
- USA Received a 1 point bonus."

Ties in final Round Robin points standings are broken by the order of finish in Final Standings of the 2015-2016 ACWS.

The top challenger from the Louis Vuitton Qualifiers gets to select their Semi-Final opponent from among the other three Semi-Finalists.

Emirates Team New Zealand selected Land Rover/BAR as their Semi-Final opponent.  Artemis Racing faced SoftBank Team Japan.

If the first place team from the Louis Vuitton Qualifiers is a competitor in the America's Cup Match, their opponent will begin the match with a score of negative one (-1).

Oracle Team USA won the Qualifiers and earned this bonus regardless of who they face as the Challenger.

Because one team will start with negative points as a result of this system, it is possible that up to 14 races could be required for one team to reach the 7 points needed to win the match.

General Notes:
1) The number of races per day may vary from the original schedule depending on the Race Officer's judgment, particularly in the case of prior delays. The number of races per day in the America's Cup Match may be increased from 2 to 3 in situations where either A) a third race of the day might decide the match;, or B) delays have accumulated from previous days.  In situation "A" the decision will be announced the night before any added race would be sailed.

2) The "Best of 9" and "Best of 13" descriptions are only nominal; the winner is actually determined by points earned, not simply by the total number of races won. It is possible that through penalties or rules infractions a team could lose points, requiring additional races in order to decide a Match winner. Also, see the race format for a points penalty/bonus in the America's Cup Match.

3) The scoring for the America's Cup Match is documented in Protocol Article 29.1 (b).
