Valencia, February 8, 2010 - Link to Feb 7 Forecast
Race 1: Monday 8th February 2010 Summary: Mostly steady westerlies in the 6-9 knot range with early rain-overcast.
The breeze starts
due west at about 6-9 knots with light rain and cool temperatures
of 9 degrees Celsius. The day's high will be 10 degrees and
although the rain showers ease off in the afternoon stays
stubbornly in that 6-9 knot range. It will be a bit flukey from
time to time as the breeze is coming off the landmass and may
swing around to the NW later in the afternoon and freshen up to
about 15 knots. It will feel like 8 degrees Celsius out on the
water. Tuesday 9th February 2010 Summary: Breezy Nor'Wester at 17-19 knots - skies clearing.
Academic as it's a
rest day apparently...but after moving toward WNW from Due West
in the previous afternoon - the wind begins out of the NW quarter
at around 17-19 knots. Skies are clearing overhead although it
remains very untropical at 10 degree high for the day. The wind
will continue to move toward NNW in the afternoon and begin to
east to about 15 knots by sunset. Race 2: Wednesday 10th February 2010 Summary: morning 9-12 knots NNW easing to 8-10 by early afternoon. Very chilly, it will feel just above freezing out on the water possibly below with the apparent wind on the behemoths out there in the morning. Clear skies mean it will warm to a bracing 8 degrees Celsius in the afternoon but the flukey breeze will ease to about 8-10 knots from WNW - later in the afternoon it may swing around further to NNW and it will cool off quickly to about 6 degrees.
