Approximate Race Area for ACWS San Diego (in red).

The Principal Race Officer (PRO) will set a course within these boundaries depending on wind conditions and other factors. The Start/Finish lines will be as close to the Broadway Pier as practical. Best viewing locations will vary with the race courses and wind directions.

On the Water:
The race area will be patrolled to keep non-privileged traffic from interfering with the racing. To the south of the race area is a security exclusion zone along the naval base frontage, and the courses will be set right up against the piers on the east. Fans have reported success watching on the water near the marina south of the USS Midway, in the basin NE of the race area, and immediately to the west of the race area with the cooperation of the harbor patrol.
